A LITTLE ABOUT ME

“Many people consider seeking help is an act of self indulgence – I prefer to think of it as an act of kindness towards others, whose lives you may touch and of course... towards yourself.”
I have been described as sensitive, sometimes over sensitive in my life - some may consider that as a negative trait, I prefer to view that sensitivity as a heightened sense of awareness of people’s needs and therefore an asset, for without it, the work I do would not come so naturally.
My roles in life are those of a mother, wife, daughter, sister, friend, therapist, teacher, colleague and student of all.
I care when people suffer and have always been drawn to those who do, caring passionately that they find ways in which to overcome their difficulties.
I enjoy working with all age groups, the young and not so young. Each life phase brings challenges and we are all tasked with creating a happy ending to the story of our life.
My career began as a Nurse, working in the traditional hospital setting, also as an Occupational Health Nurse within industry and a brief spell overseas. Whilst raising my child, I helped in the voluntary sector with a number of cancer charities, working in a cancer support centre, I ran a breast cancer support group and offered telephone peer support with Breast Cancer Care. During this time I co-ordinated a major fundraising event raising £23,000 for these charities and went on to make a short film for newly diagnosed patients to offer hope and comfort – Titled “The Journey” it is available from CLAN Cancer Support Centre in Aberdeen.
In addition to working as a therapist, I also manage a friendly multidisciplinary Complimentary Health Clinic. Recently I became an Assistant Trainer with a Clinical Hypnotherapy/ NLP Training School.
I have been trained as a practitioner by Benjamin Fry; Self-help guru and author, as seen on BBC’s ‘Spendaholics’ television series.
Also I have had the privilege of undertaking the majority of my training with the unique Adam Eason – best selling author of ‘The Secrets Of Self Hypnosis’ and seen on BBC1’s prime time TV series, ‘Run For Glory’.
